Week #5...

As I enter my 5th week of dissertating...I find myself branching out...attempting to use the time I have to work on multiple fronts...this morning I started the tedious task of analyzing the analysis that's taken me about 4 weeks to craft. I'm doing this because I want what I am noticing to have both depth and breath...the only way I'll reach that goal is by re-reading what I've done so far...not that I've done that everyday for the past 4 weeks...that re-reading has been for a different reason though...to make sure that which was created the day before makes sense...this is a different re-read...I'm confident that it makes sense. So...using the line numbering feature...I've numbered each line of the analysis and am now going back through it...quantifying...yes...you heard me...quantifying my qualitative analysis. Shortly...I'll move away from that to more analysis...a look at some different data I collected...then...later...I'll stop writing and read some research...research that I know connects up with the data I'm quantifying right now.

Shortly after finishing my first 90 minutes of the day...shortly after going up to the curb to get the recycling bin (my version of a break)...I came back in and started to read a bit of Kerouac's poetry. Most of you that follow this blog or know me...know I'm a big fan of his work...it helps me in many ways and...as you also know...I often like to use his work as a mentor text for my own attempts at one specific kind of poetry...haiku. So...with some Tibetan monks chanting in the background...I wrote this...

I could have done anything I wanted during my 30 minute break...I chose to write this blogpost. Time to get back to it!
